Term 1 Success

February - April 2016 Term one has been a very productive opportunity for students to learn basics of graphics and design. Teaching and learning covered lettering, poster making, signages, symbols, colour theory and practice that are reflected in their individual portfolios. Students were very enthusiastic in expressing individual appreciation of the skills learnt. Each of them had the chance to show creativity by brainstorming, planning and sharing of ideas in class through google presentations. Specifically, I have seen engagement among students when they presented their designs in packaging and creating take away boxes. The students are able to represent their own preferences as to designs and as customers as well. Their outputs gave me an impression that indeed the business side of graphics and design should cater to the creativity and demands of the young people then of adults.
